Naked boy, 3, found wandering streets covered in faeces and begs stranger 'can I come with you?'
A THREE-year-old boy who was found wandering the streets, naked and covered in faeces begged a passer-by "can I come with you? I need help", a court heard. In what a judge described as "a harrowing incident" the concerned woman was terrified the toddler would be hit by a car as he "kept wandering in and out of the road". And when she went to his aid and asked where his mother was he told her: "She always goes to sleep" so she called the police. But when officers and social services knocked at the address they found the child asleep, covered only in a coat and lying next to a box of vomit on his bed. Among the squalor they also found diarrhoea on the landing of the property in Shirebrook, Derbyshire. The child's mother, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the child, was arrested and charged with child neglect.
